No-exam life insurance
Find out who can use expedited underwriting, how the process works, and what to expect if you don't qualify.
A number of carriers provide expedited underwriting: they evaluate qualified applicants by reviewing your application, past prescriptions, driving history, and other records rather than ordering a medical exam. Approval can arrive within hours in many cases. Every quote listed here indicates the exam status—whether it's required, might be needed, or won't be necessary.
What it changes
Avoiding a medical exam doesn't eliminate the underwriting process. Your responses will be checked, and policies written based on false information can be challenged within the first twenty-four months. Even with accelerated approval, a carrier might request additional testing if their records reveal concerns; it's your choice whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, candidates who are younger than about 60, seeking coverage within the carrier's approved range, have no significant health issues, and haven't used tobacco within the past year or longer. Some carriers will use recent medical records with bloodwork instead of requiring a separate exam.
Should a medical exam be necessary, a paramedical specialist typically visits your Downey home or workplace for 20–30 minutes at no charge. For applicants in good health, the results sometimes result in a better rate classification, so an exam may work in your favor.
